Ageing: How to stop getting old: Impact on Society

The anti-aging industry just won’t let the public keep up. The battle against mortality and aging has been around for centuries, and principle is familiar and in-keeping with the Darwinian Theory on survival. The fittest creatures naturally have bigger chances of surviving, and this is true in terms of both health and beauty. Anti Aging Discoveries in the market today are more focused on good looks that longevity. The media’s take on anti aging discoveries are directly targeted at women who must look their best to succeed in any area of expertise. These anti aging products cluster youth, clear skin, and vitality as the three most important values of beauty. Hence, the topical solutions marketed today promise near elixir-of-life results.

Before buying the hottest beauty product with the snazziest anti aging catch phrase, here are guidelines on how to examine the anti aging discoveries promised by these topical creams. Anti aging discoveries are only beneficial if they are both healthy and affordable. Here are a few of the most popular sales pitches that flood the market today.

Antioxidants flush out all your body toxins

Today’s sedentary lifestyle has made antioxidants the most powerful and praised among anti aging discoveries in this lifetime. The equation is pretty simple here: natural food products, especially fruits, counter the effects of our less than healthy lifestyle. The antioxidants or nutrients found in fruits can help the adverse effects of UV rays, stress, bad diets, and lack of sleep. Because this is so, taking fruit extracts which contain Vitamins C, A, and E make the body and face look younger.

Although there are no proved adverse side effect of antioxidants one must still be very careful about taking too much of anti aging supplements which have these ingredients. Supplements are not as controlled by food authorities as much as prescription drugs, so there’s a danger that the combination of these anti oxidants with one or two factors of your lifestyle may even hasten diseases and cancer. Before popping any sort of dietary supplement to your mouth, make sure that you consult your physician first.

Sleep and proper exercise

Anti aging is more than just applying topical creams and popping dietary supplements into your mouth. It should never be about cosmetic nip and tuck techniques either, although most people link anti aging to these industries. The best way to fight the deterioration of the body is still to rehabilitate one’s lifestyle. Even in weight control studies, the best way to effectively eliminate obesity is to practice a well rounded daily routine.

Minding what you it as much as what you do in your life helps you look at anti aging discoveries beyond its superficial elements. Nourishing the body in terms of dietary supplements and topical creams should not merely be about looking beautiful and young. It should be about keeping the body functioning at its optimum for a long time.

Sleep and proper exercise may not make you live forever, but they’re one of the most natural functions which our bodies were made for. Withholding sleep and exercise from the body means causing it to malfunction and breakdown easier. Always take at least an hour of your daily routine to hit the gym. Taking the time to eat healthy food instead of oily fast food can also take years off your face and body.

Help answer the question about anti aging

What is the right age to start using anti-aging creams?
I am 21 and the only sort of special care I take towards my skin besides washing it daily is applying SPF 50 Sunscreen. I recently read that under eye cream is important for the 20's. Is this true? What is the right age to start applying anti-aging creams? What are some good eye/face creams for 20 year olds?
Oh and I think I have fine lines under my eyes–not sure if it's a major issue or just looking to closely in the mirror.

  • Estee Lauder is good. If you like it then there's no reason to change. However, anti-aging is a multi-faceted thing. It starts with good health by not smoking, very little alcohol if any, exercise, eating good food, etc. I have found that if you abuse your body within, that no anti aging formula is going to make up for it on the outside.
So, with that said, fighting free-radical damage in the skin with Vitamins A,E, and C are good starters. Vitamin A in the form of Retinoic Acid, Vitamin C serums, and creams laced with Vitamin E have confirmed that they do help slow down the aging of the skin.
If you are using any high end skin product with vitamins in it, good moisture binding ingredients, and are doing routine exfoliating, you should be getting more than adequate pampering for your skin.

Any moisturizer that contains sunscreen is great in preventing wrinkles.

I have so many products in my bathroom (I like to try it all…lol). I currently wash my face with Olay Regenerist and then use the Thermal Skin Polisher (which heats up with water, it's like a mini chemical peel). I moisturize with Loreal Wrinkle Decrease. My foundation has a spf. My routine changes constantly.

I also love Clinique's Dramatically Different moisturizer and Dermalogica's Active Moist.

The key is to eat right, drinks lots of water, and moisturize :)

I wonder what God done to limit the human age to around about 120 years max after the floods?

  • It's never too early. The most important thing is sunscreen!
Sun damage starts when you are exposed to the sun which is usually when you are a baby unless you've never been outside since.
Don't listen to the comments that wrinkles start when your 30+, because once they start it's too late and it means you haven't been taking care of yourself! You'll thank me when you're 35 and wrinkle free!

  • Tattoo1377 says:

Oh, there is a way and we will discover it quite soon!

  • It's so nice of you to want to buy your Mom a good anti-aging/anti wrinkle cream.

I think buying a cream or surface treatment is so much better than getting surgery or using Botox.

When I select my anti-aging products, I tend to look for a few things:

    1) are there proven results?
    2) can I get a trial or sample (so I know it will work before I spend a lot of money)
    3) are the results as good as Botox or even better? (I want to get really great results without the pain or hassle)
    4) decide what you want to focus on treating (age spots, wrinkles, sagginess- or all of the above)
    5) decide how often you want to apply the treatment and how long it should take (I don't like to sit around for hours- I want something I can use quickly and then get on with the rest of my day)

  • we must cure aging… ive posted reasons on my channel.

  • rikajaj says:

    30+

or when you start seeing the first signs of wrinkles i guess.

you are 21. you should not worry about that. just continue taking care of your skin by cleaning it, avoiding foundation that clogs your pores, and using your sunscreen. enjoy your youthful skin good luck! :-)

  • Hyperchiller says:

yes longevity risk is a massive issue for people who retire… they soon realize that they live too long and will run out of their pension money

  • Dee Dee says:

i haven't used them but my mom, who is 49, uses Artistry Time Defiance products. they are a little more expensive then the drug store brands but they're definitely worth their value! And Artistry also has a 100% guarantee of satisfaction. : )
